Pyeongtaek-Dangjin Port is located in the deep inside of Asan-man(bay). The fairway through the channel leading to Pyeongtaek-Dangjin Port is designated by the port regulations and fairway buoys with lights are established according to the boundaries of the fairway.
Republic of Korea follows the IALA buoyage system type B. Therefore, when entering, an inbound vessel ship shall keep red color buoys on her starboard side.
The buoyed fairway runs about 20 nautical miles from the buoy #1 to the inner harbor, and has curbs and a narrow channel whose narrowest width is less than 800meters. The experienced competent pilots and the VTS assist shipmasters for safe transit throughout the buoyed fairway.
