PyeongtaekㆍDangjin Port is a naturally beneficial port due to its location which is lying in the deep inside of Asan-man(bay), and also one of the gates to the central metropolitan area of Korea, where more than half of the nation's economic activities are performed. The large industrial complexes lie close to the port, and their wide backgrounds are under developing.
The port is supported by well organized complex transport system in inland areas.
Above all, Pyeongtaek-Dangjin Port is the closest port to Chinese ports among any other Korean ports. The sea distance to the Chinese mainland is approximately 350 km (188 nautical miles). Therefore, it's an absolutely beneficial geographical condition for trade with China.
We are investing more than 3 billion USD for the expansion of port within the period of 2002 to 2011, and spurring the development plan to achieve the more convenient, safer, and more economical international seaport.
